I have lived in West Devon for most of my life, growing up near Tavistock in a village called Lamerton.
I have been married to Tanya for 34 years and we have 2 grown up children. Natasha is married and lives locally with her husband Mike and our 2 grandchildren. Ross lives near Maidenhead with his girlfriend Frankie.
I worked on a local dairy farm near Tavistock for 18 years where we lived on the farm. In 1999 we gained the tenancy of a small farm near Holsworthy in North Devon. Whilst there we went through the Foot & mouth outbreak in 2001.
In 2003 we moved to a bigger farm in Bridestowe and farmed there until 2015. I now work for NWF Agriculture as a feed adviser and sales specialist. Since leaving the farm we now live in Broadwoodwidger.
I came to faith in 1992 and have been an active member with Tanya in the Methodist Church locally wherever we were living.
We became members at Bridestowe in 2003 and continue to worship and serve in the Church there.
Outside the Church, I am Chair of Broadwoodwidger Parish Council and on the committee of the Community Hub.
