Lay Pastoral Coordinator - Fran Bliss

Fran wites: My job is to support, encourage and celebrate what is already in place pastorally across the Circuit and to develop training for pastoral  supporters  and to set systems up so that pastoral care is easy to access. The aim is that the church is able to a share what we have with others outside of the church.

I grew up in in Northamptonshire the Midlands.  I came to faith in my teenaged years and my family moved to Devon in 1998. After leaving school I had various jobs from hair dressing to candy floss selling. I wanted to learn more about my faith and joined YWAM in India for a year. When I got back I worked as a senior sales assistant at Wesley Owen Christian Book shop in Exeter. It was in that time I began to explore how I could train to become a counsellor. I started my training at Network Counselling and Training in Bristol 2006 and qualified in 2010. I have worked in various settings from hospitals and schools. I have always had a keen interest in pastoral work of the church and it is a privilege to be part of the West Devon Circuit.

In my spare time I like walking on the moors and the beach. I enjoy Jazz music and India food and  old movies, Casablanca being my favourite. Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Singing In The Rain come next on the list. l love my Moped who is is named Gabriel. You are bound to see us around.
